What is this?
The Celebration Night is going to be a celebration of joy and love. With thanksgiving and praises, we want to restore the joy of salvation and share that joy with our brothers and sisters. However, surely there will be a lot of attacks and hindering to stop us from rejoicing. When the people of God were in desperate time, they humbled themselves and declared fasting (2 Chronicles 20:3~4). That's why we need to declare fasting and ask God to protect us.
Pray About?
Here are some suggested prayer requests:
- Speaker (We want to get the message from God)
- Unity of KCF (there will be different groups and people. We want to be unified as the body of Christ.)
- The congregation (so that, our hearts can be prepared.)
- Non-believing friends (ask God to reveal himself to my friends)
- Our brothers and sisters who are fasting. (health, being courageous and strong)
- Weather
How?
Fasting means you are giving up something in order to use that time(or resource) to pray.
- Fasting foods.
- Moses fasted w/o water and food (we don’t recommend w/o water) (Exodus 34:28)
- You can fast a whole day , 1 or 2 meals.
- Daniel fasting – no meat, no wine (Daniel 10:3).
- You can fast by giving up sweets.
- No soda, ice cream and etc.
- If you are fasting foods, please be extra careful with your health. We recommend you to drink a lot of water and vitamins.
- Fasting computer usage.
- Chatting, games (ex. GunBound), internet and etc.
- Please, leave Sunday open since it's a day of celebrating Jesus'
resurrection.
- etc.
You are giving up something for God. It shouldn’t be like giving up spinach because you don’t like it. =)
During this time, we can discipline ourselves that we can live with a lot less... and learn to appreciate more of what God has given us. Whenever we get hungry, we just need to prayer harder... it's a great time to just talk and wrestle with God about specific concerns. However, we must realize that we should not do it with wrong intentions... we should not do it in order to hear praises from other people. (Matthew 6:17~18)
